  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, then stir to combine.
  6. Add the flour and mix until just incorporated.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
